Yankee Stadium
Baseball stadium in the Bronx, New York City
About
Yankee Stadium (also referred to as New Yankee Stadium to distinguish it from the original) is a baseball stadium located in the Bronx, New York City. It is the home field of the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball.
The stadium opened in April 2009, replacing the original Yankee Stadium that operated from 1923 to 2008; it is situated in the Concourse neighborhood of the Bronx on the 24-acre (9.7 ha) former site of Macombs Dam Park, one block north of the original stadium's site. The new Yankee Stadium replicates design elements of the original Yankee Stadium, including its exterior and trademark frieze, while incorporating larger spaces and modern amenities. It has the fifth-largest seating capacity among the 30 stadiums of Major League Baseball.
