Singapore Turf Club

Singapore horse-racing club

About

The Singapore Turf Club is Singapore's premier horse racing institution and the only horse-racing club in Singapore. It was founded in 1842 as the Singapore Sporting Club to operate the Serangoon Road Race Course at Farrer Park Field and is part of the Malayan Racing Association. In 1933, the Club moved its premises to Bukit Timah. In 1988, the Bukit Turf Club was formed by the Singapore Totaliser Board (Tote Board) as an agent to operate 4D draws and horse racing betting and the original club was absorbed into the newly established agency. In 1994, BTC readopted the absorbed club's original name and moved to the present Kranji site in 1999.

On 5 June 2023, Singapore Turf Club announced that it will cease operations in March 2027 due to Singaporean Government demand of land for housing and other projects, with its final race held at the Kranji Racecourse on 5 October 2024.
